Technology in the Classroom

Admittedly there are many challenges involved when using technology in the classroom: Cost, Time, Facilities, Software, Know-How, but once you overcome this you can open the technological world for your students. Any lesson can be enhanced by some form of technology if that is the teacher’s desire. Children seem to love using SMART boards, computer games, programs, editing and publishing their own work, finding research and discovering new things. Of course child protection and safety issues must always be considered; however with careful planning and thought these too can assist students in using technology safely. Technology can reach so many people and does tend to make life easier, I cannot imagine writing assignments by hand any more!

From this page I will link snippets of how the technology that is being explored during tutorials or lectures can be utilised in the classroom. Please follow the links if you are interested.
