Ida’s Quest - http://www.nsw.nationaltrust.org.au/ida/index.html - A website that looks at Australian (particularly NSW) history over time using narrative and riddles to make the site interactive.
National Library of Australia - http://www.nla.gov.au/oz/histsite.html - Tricky to naviagte but a wide variety of resources, in particular digital copies of first hand accounts such as diaries from the Early Colony, pictures throughout Australian history and a dictionary of terminology.
English
Primary English Teaching Association (PETA) - http://www.peta.edu.au/ - News, discussions, reviews and additional teaching resources relating to teaching English in schools.
Randall’s ESL Cyber Listening Lab - http://www.esl-lab.com/ - A website for incorporating ESL learners, that nicely blends the listening and talking tasks with reading and writing. Easy to use, great for guided reading circles.
Maths
Have Sum Fun - http://www.havesumfunonline.com/ – A WA initiative into mathematics teaching for year 5 -8. Children form teams at schools and complete weekly tasks against other schools… i wonder if we have something like that in NSW?
Aboriginal Perspectives in Mathematics - http://www.aboriginaleducation.sa.edu.au/pages/Educators/mathematics/?reFlag=1 - A South Australian page that looks at incorporating Aboriginal and Torres Strait Island perspectives into mathematics. This includes a powerpoint presentation and an example of a unit of work.
