Here are a select few tidbits of work I have done in the past, relating to either the use of technology, or teaching (or sometimes incorporating both!). I have linked in some of the teaching accreditation points from the New South Wales Institute of Teachers (www.nswteachers.nsw.edu.au). The full document is available at http://www.nswteachers.nsw.edu.au/Acc_The-Teacher-Accreditation-Manual.html. The Accreditation at Professional Competence – Evidence Guide will be very important if I get a full time job. In order to be classified as a NSW teacher, you must fulfil particular criteria and send evidence of this. In my explanation of the work samples i have added dot points to indicate which section I believe this work may fulfill.
I also have an example of an initiative I am considering starting within my classroom.

Work Samples:
Mathematics – Egyptian Numbers
Teacher Accreditation
Standard 3.2.4 – Select, develop and use a variety of appropriate resources and materials that engage students and support their learning.
This was created for a maths presentation using clipart, word (picture editing in particular), and Paint.net. Because of the lage amount of graphics it was necessary to save it as PDF file before printing. I have taken a text book question and to add interest, have made it a comic strip. I later used this in a year 5 class and recorded a brief interview about the work. The interview was saved simply using a headset with a microphone and voice recorder program then later edited (amplified and cut shorter) with Audacity.

Religion – Stations of the Cross
Teacher Accreditation:
Standard 3.2.3 – Select and organise subject/content in structured teaching and learning programs that reflect sound knowledge of subject content/disciplines taught.
This worksheet was created on Practicum to assist a stage two in arranging the stations of the cross into the correct order and also to view a variety of artworks. They had prior knowledge of this, having visited a church and reading in their text book, they had a feel for the traditional images and the story, but they had not seen contemporary interpretations. The children loved the use of colour, and they cut out their images, stuck them in order then wrote an accompanying reflection about one image they likes. The pictures were also printed in A4 version and laminated, the following lesson we held a class mediation session and children were selected to read out their reflection. This seemed to work very well. It’s amazing what some time, effort and a bit of colour can do.
English – Guided Reading Instructions
Teaching Accreditation
Standard 1.2.4 – Apply current knowledge and skills in the use of ICT in the classroom to meet syllabus outcomes in the following: Basic operational skills; Information technology skills; Software evaluation skills; Effective use of the internet; Pedagogical skills for classroom management
I was also fortunate enough to create a Guided Reading program for my last practicum class. I devised four groups with different tasks led by students. The areas that we focused on were those that were identified as real needs for the children. Additionally I have used Windows Movie Maker to create a brief instructional movie. This is supportive of ESL students as it provides a visual component as well as the reading. There is a strong focus on peer-learning/teaching as well in this program.

Integrated Unit
Teacher Accreditation
Standard 3.2.3 – Select and organise subject/content in structured teaching and learning programs that reflect sound knowledge of subject content/disciplines taught
As part of one of our assignments we had to create an integrated unit. This was a lot of work, but quite successful. I felt the need to show a few pages of this as a guide for my future planning within the classroom. This shows how a whole program can come together.
